As the year comes to a close, I look back at the very few entries I have contributed to this journal throughout 2008. When I read back to one entry from last year, it reads 2008 should be a year of new beginnings... and in many many ways it was. In some... a set back. However, in Sept of 2007 I met the love of my life, Robbie. We are engaged to be married. We have 2 puppies, Bandit and Marley and we live in a wonderful house! I have never been more in love and he makes me feel indescribable.

We have AMAZING friends! This year has been the party year haha. Some I remember, some I partially remember... haha that's what pictures are for anyways. Grilling out and having chill times every weekend all summer are some of my fondest memories and I will hold them dear forever! Thank you to all of you who were apart of them!

The only MAJOR setback for the year was a car accident... where I was rear ended in February - car totaled + L3 disc in my back torn. After 7 months of various therapies, spinal injections, and finally a painful discogram procedure... my spinal surgeon said "the DISC MUST COME OUT!" so.. Sept 29th... one day before our 1 year anniversary (I was a very cheap date this year) I had posterier lumbar fusion surgery. It takes 6 months to 2 years to recover from..
Robbie, even though he was the cause of the accident,.... has been nothing short of amazing when caring for me and my every need. It's been very painful and he has been very patient. I do hope 2009 brings a better year. :/
To cap it off, Robbie's Opa died this morning... I am so thankful for the times I was able to spend with him and I wish I had known him better. He was a caring and gentle man. And extremely funny!

To reiterate, 2009 better bring gumdrops and diamonds damnit.

I love not having school.
It's just like skipping class, except I don't have to feel any sort of guilt today or tomorrow!

Still packing........

Random Update

Ugh, I have to work all weekend. It's only awesome because of the money... other than that, I'm really not looking forward to being alone for 6hrs tonight, 10hrs tomorrow, and 4hrs on Sunday (which is Gladiators, so I won't be alone). Plus I have school stuff to do as well as packing. We move a week from today!!!!!!
So excited. The fence, patio, and landscaping have almost all been completed. We're having a pantry built and possibly an island for the kitchen. We're building dvd shelves that take up an entire wall lol. I think I'm most excited about that; oh and having my own freakin' parking space...... ie. the driveway and garage. I hate this apartment complex now. No one seems to work cuz when I come home from class in the middle of the day I have to park far away from my building. Anyway, I should start to get ready... more on the house later!

It's been awhile since I updated...

I did get a 4.0 last semester. School is a lot harder this Spring... I probably shouldn't have transfered haha. Oh well. We close on the house on Monday! I have so much to do to get it all ready... lots of places to call. I'm going to buy bedroom furniture... I'm applying for the Thomasville Credit Card after class today. Ugh.. class.. I have a presentation to do in my Gender and Sexuality Class. I have to be there at 12, so I should probably get goin'. More on the move later!

Damn the sugar plum fairy

School.
Work.
Sleep a little.

I anticipate a 4.0 this semester, so all the hard work will have been worth it. Pending one quiz on Monday, I should be able to exempt 3 out of 4 of my finals.

So awesome.

I'm still trying to get a paper completed for World Lit. My laptop's been down, so it's been a little difficult for me to get it done. It's worth 50% of my "paper grades"; I got a 100 on my other paper... and a 96 on my midterm... not too worried...

I swear, the sound of the Nutcracker is pissing me off. More work today! (and tomorrow...and...)

My parents come into town on Tuesday. We look at the house I want Wednesday. The plan: put contract on said house this week and the buyer accepts.
I'm anxious for their arrival and hope everything works out...!!!!

Ouch!!

I got a flu shot and a tetanus "booster" shot today, well, yesterday really... I haven't gone to sleep yet, so it's still today. AAAnyway, shit hurts. They must've had quite a few live ones in there cuz I'm feelin' the affects of that flu shot... not to mention the tetanus shot arm hurts like hell. I had to get all my immunization crap done for my transfer to GA Gwinnett. That meant sitting at Collins Hill for over an hour waiting for my records. It was worth it though. All I have to do now is drop off the paperwork and I'm all set. Oh, and, get through the rest of this semester.....

I left FL a little after 7 AM. I got home around 3:30. I didn’t really stop except to fill up. Time went by so quickly on this trip! I had a great time though. Really good time visiting. I got home and had so much stuff to carry up that it took me 4 trips from my car. It sucked... I live on the 3rd floor of my apartment… it was fucking hot… and I had just driven over 8 hours.

I got some Tarot cards; which have turned out to be awesome.

There were so many sales because of back to school. I got a lot of new clothes, some makeup, dvds, shoes, candles, Halloween decorations, other items, and jewelry.

So after I had lugged all of that stuff upstairs I took a shower, cuz… ew. Then I spent some fuckin’ great quality time with Paul when he got home from work. Then I collapsed and fell asleep. Paul brought Chili’s for me and then I ended up falling back to sleep after I ate lol. Then I went through the mail that had piled up after 13 days. To my surprise I received a thank you/apology letter from the Assistant General Manager of the Gwinnett Arena for working the craziness that was Juntos en Concierto event (it was horrendous).

AND there was a $25 Target gift card enclosed! How sweet is that?

Now I’m just laying in bed… knowing I have to get up in the morning to take care of school related business. Suck, but It’s gotta get done.

Speaking of school, I got 2 A’s this summer! Ugh, however, I have to begin AGAIN on Monday. Neverending.

I was muy busy yesterday/last night. So tired, I came home... ate something... and went to sleep.
Glimpse of what a supervisor does:

I got to work a little before 2. I had to park around back, which sucked cuz then I had to: go through the employee entrance and up the elevator and through the concourse to get to the box office. It's a nice long walk. Carrie then informs me to put my stuff down and head on over to the other building to fill in for 2 people as they each go to lunch. So I put my dinner in the fridge (sushi), grab my bag with my laptop/binder/geology book, my purse, and a radio and trudge back downstairs........across the parking lot....baking all the way.... and finally making to the convention center box office. There, we're doing all cash and giving out stupid ass wrist bands. I do about 60 in 2 1/2 hours. It's ridiculous. After that I head back across the parking lot, all that stuff in tow, through the employee entrance, up the elevator, and through the concourse level to get to our box office. Things calm down a bit and I'm handed 5 emails with 6 names on each with different amounts of tickets and price levels.... as well as a stack of tickets from all around the Arena to try and give each person the best deal (For Will Call). So I spend about 30-45 mins on that, cuz it's really not easy lol. Then more of our people start showing up, so I decide it would be a good time to eat. I waited too long lol. I wolfed it down in 3 mins; in between a bombardment of questions and dealing with the customers... I was the only one back there to answer the questions and handle any problems.. I was also the only one to get everyone a bank. So now we have 4 Will Call and 7 ticket Sellers; THAT's EVERY WINDOW. Then Carrie informs me that I'll be doing some Reloads; or Relocations. So I'm escorted to the customer service table at the entrance with 6 Reloads... and of course there were problems. And OF COURSE there were people coming up to me asking DUMB ASS questions and complaining about their seat locations. BUT I totally have that one DOWN! I can turn that shit around and make them like it! Or they are satisfied with the options I give them. It's cool. Anyway, after the Reloads are complete and I make some new friends out in the lobby lol... I head on back into the box office. After awhile, I start checking people out (their cash and credit cards) and drop everything in the safe. After everyone had left.... I had to do the dailies. Type everything in for the day.... then print out a report.... 2 different ones....... must cover asses in case of auditing. Then we do the drop count, which is the number of people in the building and we email that to higher, more important people... Collect all the scanners.... arm the box office... and make my way back down to my car...

Now I'm awake, but exhausted cuz I know what's ahead of me today. I have an extra credit assignment due tomorrow. A paper on how the Grand Canyon formed... and a final exam. I just need to get all of that over with. I need a vacation.

Soo it's pretty much Friday. I need to get ready for the Final and do the Extra Credit assignment that's due on Tuesday.... It's on the formation of the Grand Canyon. IT's fucking hard as shit. It's like a foreign language to me... I will do my best. Soo I work tonight (Friday). It's an Indian concert.... Sunday they have me coming in at 11:30 cuz they need someone to supervise from 12-10 at the convention center. But then I have to go back to the Arena; so it will probably be closer to 11 before I leave.... that's a long day. Final on Tuesday. Work Wed. NO WORK THURSDAY. LEAVE FRIDAY INSTEAD OF SAT!

I'm tired....

I just signed up for fall classes...

Here's what I'm taking:

MW 2:00-3:15   -   Intro. to Social Problems
MW 3:30-4:45   -   Anthropology
TR  9:30-10:45  -  US History I
TR  11:00-12:15 - World Lit. I

And that'll do it for all my humanities. I'll transfer to Ga Gwinnett College in the Spring and be able to focus on completing my degree.

I'm probably going to be meeting up with an agent soon. I'm excited about that. :)
Next year will be one of those with lots of new beginnings: New school, new house, new dog!!!! Hopefully, anyway.

Ugh, I'm looking over my classes and there's going to be so much reading... I have a headache.
I should sleep.

In exactly 4 months I will be 22.  :0

I love garlic.

Paul and I went to Fernbank today. :) There was a chocolate exhibit and free samples. We also saw Safari at the IMAX there. I felt pretty knowledgeable about the beginning of the Universe, Earth, and the first life on this planet... all thanks to school! haha.. yeah.. something like that. It was pretty cool though. Going there was something different to do on the weekend... then we went to Bambinelli's and got some great food. (Hence, the love of garlic subject)

All I have left for my speech is to rehearse it... I woke up at 7:30 Sat. morning and worked til almost noon to get the speech and the powerpoint ready.

Now, for some reason, I'm postponing sleep... but my heavy eye lids are getting the better of me.

Monk is awesome.

I wonder if anyone even reads these entries anymore?

oh well.

My bed + my fan = a good sleep

Time goes by way too fast. It's as if I blinked and the entire weekend, and week for that matter, were over. The visit with my family was wonderful. I did go to AL, and that was a lot of fun as well.
I got a 98 on my Communications Midterm and a 92 on my Geology exam.
I have yet to do the research, write, or prepare for the speech I have due on Wed. I don't have class until then; thanks in part to the 4th of July and the fact that my other teacher decided he didn't want to have class on Monday. Which is cool with me.

I need to critique a speech... except during the summer no one comes to lecture on campus... grrr.

I love lying in bed with Paul and singing songs from Disney movies in a surge of sleepy energy.
*I'm sleeping in tomorrow until I can't sleep anymore.

I've decided that I want a flat-coated retriever. The puppy in AL was too precious. Her Mother (also the Mother of Gypsy and Stella) will be bred once more sometime next year. Hopefully I will have a house by then and a fenced in yard for a dog :D.

This was a babbling of tiredness type of entry. I should make good on my sleeping in commitment and begin now.
